Heavy Equipment Operator

All Star Paving & Sealing LLC, Connecticut's premier asphalt paving and maintenance contractor, is excited to announce a career opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Operator. Our team handles everything from residential driveways and parking lots to major roadway projects, along with concrete work, milling, grading, excavation, masonry, drainage and asphalt maintenance.

Pay:

  • $25-$35/hr

Hours:

  • Seasonal position: April - December
  • Mon - Fri 6am - 4pm, some Saturdays

Duties:

  • Operate machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Set up machines before starting production, including calibration and configuration.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to maintain product quality.
  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform basic repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output counts and downtime logs.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
  • Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and use of PPE.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and technicians to optimize productivity.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating manufacturing or industrial machinery preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical documents (preferred).
  • Good attention to detail and quality control awareness.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights as required.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices in industrial environments.
